We want to hear Your Voice and Your View on the Council budget – help us consider new and innovative ways of working as we try to find the right balance when we set our budget.
It is our aim to make life fairer for everyone – regardless of their circumstances.
This is at the forefront of our minds as we start the process for preparing for next year’s budget.
However, based on our current projections, the level of savings we may need to make over the next three years could be in excess of £40m!
This is in addition to a total of £102million of savings already achieved from 2010/11 to 2019/20 - equating to almost 30% of our current budget.
We want to hear what you’ve got to say about the services we deliver and, perhaps more importantly, listen to any thoughts you’ve got on how we can do things better.
Our Areas of Future Focus
To make change happen and tackle the challenges ahead, we have to ask ourselves – What can we do differently? What should we stop doing? What can we do in partnership with our communities?
Would you join us in creating a Community Charter – so we can support our local communities to come together and set out the things that we jointly commit to do to help improve our localities?
This can be anything from agreeing to recycle more at home, support local businesses by buying locally and engaging in our online services – and in turn, we would commit to do things for you such as keeping Council Tax as low as possible and keep as much of our spend as we can within North Ayrshire. But these are just some examples – we’d be delighted to hear your thoughts.
Everyone has a part to play and their own ideas in making North Ayrshire fair for all and we’d be delighted to hear your thoughts.
