The building the library is currently housed in offers much more than just the library services, especially the community room. With the reduction in meeting room facilities in Largs, the current users will have difficulty in finding an alternative venue and, if they do, the costs will be much higher than currently charged by the library. Moving the library to Vikingar will make it more inaccessible for people living on the other side of Largs. Was informed at the consultation meeting the architect has not yet been to Vikingar to assess the availability and suitability of alternative accommodation for the library and computer suite so how can the Council propose this move without knowing if it is possible?

I started using the library on a regular basis earlier this year and really enjoy reading the wealth of books it has to offer. I also appreciate the other facilities it has. I hope that there will be space to accommodate all the activities, clubs and groups. It will be a great shame to lose them.

I use the library regularly for books, photocopying and various groups I attend. Access to the Vikingar/school campus would be difficult as I don’t drive. This would affect how often I would be able to continue using the library facilities.

I use the library regularly, and help to run a book club from it. I live nearby to Vikingar so personally speaking the plan would suit me. More generally, I think being close to the main road and buses it would I think improve access, and there is also good car parking which is sometimes an issue at the library
